Jaguar I-PACE Electrifies New York City

Late last month, Panasonic Jaguar Racing and the Jaguar I-PACE electric vehicle made a visit to the Big Apple in preparation for this weekend's final rounds of the 17/18 ABB FIA Formula E Championship. The races will take place on a purpose-built street course that measures 1.21 miles, and runs through the Red Hook, Brooklyn, around Pier 11 and the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship is the first fully-electric racing series in the world. Panasonic Jaguar Racing enters the race in fifth place, with the team driving the Jaguar I-TYPE 2 race car focused on finishing the year off on a high note.

When the I-PACE SUV goes on sale later this year, Jaguar will be the first automaker to feature both a Formula E race team and a production EV that's available to the general public. The I-PACE has been in the fortunate position of receiving technological advancements from the team at Panasonic Jaguar Racing. This beneficial exchange has helped speed up development of the I-PACE SUV, particularly when it comes to powertrain performance, efficiency, battery management, software, and transmission design and durability.

While each vehicle will boast its own unique features, the I-PACE SUV and I-TYPE Formula E race car will share technologies for these custom parts.

At Byers Jaguar, we're honored to be the Columbus area's top resource for Jaguar vehicles. We're always happy to help our customers from the Dublin, Upper Arlington, New Albany, Westerville and Granville areas.
